FEAR

It was staring me in my face
My greatest living fear
Suffocating, grinning, lunging
I wanted to run for life, my life so dear

I clenched my fists
My knuckles turning white
A scream lodged in my throat
My eyes were squeezed shut, tight

My body was stiff with terror
With sweat pouring in my eyes
Someone please help me
The room was full of my silent cries

My jaw was hanging open
A constant buzzing in my head
Give me strength O’God
Please don’t let me be dead

The Gods were busy that day
They handed me over to their heir
Who did absolutely nothing for me
As I suffered in my dentist’s chair
