Coz You Are There For Me

Conversations that spills into the quiet of the night

asking "how was your day" and then actually listening

with eyes closed...reaching out with words

soothing and healing....

Talking of this and that and everything under the sun

about laughter...about joy… about pain and tears

and yet listening to what is not being said

Of our deepest fears

The little everyday nothings that mean so much

“What did you cook…What did you eat”?

Letting the voice wash over you

As the hearts beat

The night draws on, and as the heartbeats mingle

The woes and the pains melt away

Goodnights said across the wire

Till the next day….

Lovely poem. It's amazing how real the long distance relationships feel these days. Very beautifuly worded. It has a very nice, happy feel about it, which lingers after the end. :-)

Bachpan main ek kavita padhi thi, which said a pen can be mightier than even a sword....

While that is debated, one thing that this poem establishes is that a beautifully worded poem can make just about any feeling come alive, and give it a happy twist, much more powerful than the actors playing their part can ever show or feel.

The mystery of the long distance is maintained tastefully until the very end, and every word from the work can launch the reader into a realm of sweet and sour thoughts of his/her own realtionship, long distance or not..

"I'll be there for you..'cause you are there for me". This is the most valuable thing in this life, to have the loved ones near you..
